Within The Frozen North players will discover a wide range of new content, including new AI factions, dungeons like The Black Keep, and more. A core new feature is the temperature/weather system, which will require players to dress down in extreme heat and dress warm in extreme cold. Or, alternatively, players can drink away the symptoms of extreme weather using the new Brewing and Cooking crafting systems.

Expanding on Conan Exiles’ core gameplay is also a priority in The Frozen North. Character creation now features facial hair options for players to beautify their barbarians with, as well as a new God to pray to in Ymir. The Frozen North features abundant resources, which can be crafted into new building materials or will insulate against the cold weather. And of course, there’s a wide new selection of armor and weapons to discover and craft.

The Frozen North isn’t just about adding new content to Conan Exiles, it’s also about making a stronger game overall. According to Creative Director Joel Bylos, several major improvements to core gameplay systems are being made in The Frozen North:

Conan Exiles remains an Early Access title on PC and will be launching on Xbox One as part of the console’s Xbox Game Preview program. Rarely do Early Access titles make such dramatic additions and improvements. It’s great to see Funcom both adding dramatic amounts of content and iterating on gameplay to create the kind of finished product fans would expect when the game finally reaches its official launch.

Conan Exiles is available now on PC and launches on August 16 for the Xbox One. The Frozen North expansion also launches August 16 and is available to all current Conan Exiles players.
